Study looks at preschoolers' activity levels

When it comes to being active preschoolers are practically professionals. Now, researchers say that amazing energy level may peak and actually start to decline between the ages of 3 and 5.

Part of the reason may be that children at that age start to spend more time in front of the television.

Few studies have looked at preschoolers activity levels so it's difficult to tell whether the slow down is natural at this age.

Still, the findings in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise is concerning. Researchers say obesity has been rapidly increasing among children and decreased activity is thought to play a significant role.
