Several Chicago-area religious leaders are threatening to bring masses of people down to Springfield if politicians don't stop calling for Senator Roland Burris to resign. They spoke to reporters Tuesday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church on North Long Avenue.

The pastors say they want state leaders to now focus on how money from the economic stimulus package will be spent in Illinois.

Some African-American politicians and community leaders have come to Burris' defense in recent days.

Burris still faces inquiries by the Senate Ethics Committee and the Sangamon County state's attorney over his dealings with ousted Governor Rod Blagojevich.
