2 arrested in Red Line stabbing

A man was stabbed and seriously injured on the CTA's Red Line Monday afternoon. It happened just after noon on a northbound train near the Chicago Avenue stop.

A witness said the victim was attacked by a man and woman in their 20s. She told police the man got into an argument with the couple.

The witness added the man started punching the victim. Then the woman pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck and shoulders.

Police have arrested two people.

The victim is in serious condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
