Ald. to propose Wrigley concert ordinance

Chicago Alderman Tom Tunney will ask the city council to approve an ordinance authorizing three concerts at Wrigley Field this summer. The concerts are scheduled within the same week. Elton John and Billy Joel are scheduled to perform at the Friendly Confines July 16 and 21. And the band Rascal Flatts will perform July 18. That concert conflicts with a popular neighborhood event sponsored by the Southport Neighbors Association.

The group has asked Tunney to draw the line at two concerts. He has said if three are too many for the neighborhood, then Wrigley will not be allowed to host any next year.
