Childhood sweet tooth explained?

March 24, 2009 A study in the journal Physiology and Behavior indicates that youngsters who preferred the sweet drinks were the ones growing the fastest.

A test in more than 100 children found those interested in the sugary drinks were also the ones with signs of current bone growth.

Researchers say with rapid growth calorie demands increase. Craving sweets may actually fill a biological need by pushing children towards energy sources such as sugar.
