Farmers Markets start to bloom

May 14, 2009 (CHICAGO) Chicago Mayor Richard Daley kicked of the season at Daley Plaza, located at Washington and Dearborn, which holds farmers markets Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It's a popular spot with the Loop crowd- especially over lunch- where people pick up locally grown fruits, veggies and flowers. Several groups also offer baked goods and honey.

The city has dozens of neighborhood farmers markets - some of which are independently run- across the map. Check out ABC7's Farmers Market Guide.
