"My niece never had a chance," the teenager's aunt, Nicole Ray, said after watching the I-Team's report about Donald Wells, the driver of the truck. "He [Wells] had a chance to have a wife and a daughter. My niece never had a chance to have a husband and a child. He was not the victim. He had a medical condition. He shouldn't have ever been driving."
The crash that injured more than a dozen people also resulted in the death of a 47-year-old woman Elosia Guerrero, who was on her way home from work at The Sutton Place Hotel.
Delisia Brown was a varsity cheerleader at Lane Tech in Chicago and preparing to graduate when she was killed.
"That was my damn niece. My niece was crushed to death. She was the victim, not Donald Wells," an angry Nicole Ray told the I-Team. "It's just bringing pain back to the family members."
