Joliet casino set to reopen

June 24, 2009 (JOLIET, Ill.) A huge fire destroyed the entertainment pavilion back in March. The casino barge wasn't damaged.

The casino's owner said they planned to renovate the entire facility before the fire.

While making repairs from the fire crews removed the Egyptian motif and replaced it with a 1930s Art Deco appearance.

The Joliet fire chief plans to join casino officials during a re-opening ceremony on Thursday. They'll be using a fire ax instead of scissors at a ribbon cutting ceremony.
