A 37-year-old Chicago Transit Authority worker has died from Legionnaires' disease. Robert Pierce, of Plainfield, died Sunday at Edward Hospital in Naperville, according to the DuPage County coroner's office.

Pierce apparently contracted the disease several weeks ago. He had been working in a CTA rail yard when he was hit in the face with a blast of stagnant water. Pierce got sick the next day.
