Tests conducted on Crestwood water

September 14, 2009 (CRESTWOOD, Ill.) The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and Illinois Water Survey returned to the Crestwood water tower Monday to take new samples.

Samples taken in June indicate the water is contaminated with dry cleaner solvent.

But investigators are still trying to confirm where the chemical came from. They have drilled a new monitoring well to test the theory that it came from a dry cleaning business at the nearby Playfield Plaza.
