The RainbowPUSH coalition and some victims' families are calling for a federal investigation into the E2 nightclub disaster. Twenty-one people died in February of 2003 when people rushed down the only staircase of the club, crushing the victims at the door.

The families and Rainbow-PUSH say previously undisclosed evidence shows that flawed rescue efforts from the city contributed to the deaths. The City of Chicago law department says that argument was already dismissed by a judge in a previous lawsuit.
