CPS teen injured in school fight, 2 charged

Two teens, including a Phillips High School basketball player, are charged with battery following a postgame fight. It happened last night in the halls of Curie High School.The victim is a 14-year-old Curie student who was beaten so badly, he'll need reconstructive oral surgery. He may lose as many as six teeth.

Two 17-year-olds face possible expulsion.

"Those students on the team who have been found to have violated the student code of conduct will face severe disciplinary action," said Monique Bond, Chicago Public Schools spokesperson.

CPS will also look into the possibility coaches and others didn't provide enough supervision of the students.
