Police say the woman tried to flee through the front door and the man fired several shots, striking her. As she ran out she collided with swat officers causing one to discharge his weapon. He suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
Other officers caught up with the suspect after he tried to flee through a window.
Meanwhile, a fire started in a second floor apartment. The cause is being investigated.
The police officer, the suspect and the woman were taken to hospitals for treatment.
