Rush to hold prayer event for Haiti

January 15, 2010 (CHICAGO) The event will take place at the DuSable Museum of African American History, 740 E. 56th Place, at 4 p.m.

"We must pray for lost lives and for those waiting to be found," Rush said in a statement. "All of America is coming together to respond to our friends in Haiti during this time of crisis. I encourage all of Chicago to join us Sunday evening in our unified effort of prayer and support for our local Haitian American community."

Rush will be joined by several government, civic and arts leaders who hope the event will galvanize support for relief efforts in Port-au-Prince.

The event is free and open to the public.
