Police: Suburban churches vandalized

Places of worship in the south suburbs were on alert after two churches were vandalized Saturday.Windows were broken and telephone wires were cut at Christ Temple Baptist Church in Markham.

The pastor says nothing from inside the church was taken.

A few miles away in Harvey, the doors of the First Lutheran Church were kicked in, and some frozen food was stolen.

First Lutheran's phone wires were cut also.

Police from both communities say they are investigating, but so far, they have not determined if the incidents are related.
