Drivers who get a parking ticket within 5 minutes after the meter's expiration time might be able to get it thrown out- once.Drivers can now have one ticket a year tossed out if they held onto their pay box receipt and if the violation was issued within five minutes of its expiration.

Mayor Daley proposed the change last month. He wants to give a break to drivers who accidentally overstay the time on the pay box by only a few minutes.
