Study examines smokers' IQ scores

Research in the journal Addiction looked at more than 20,000 Israeli men in the military. Those who smoked ended up with significantly lower intelligence test scores than non- smokers. Researchers say this remained true even after they accounted for socioeconomic status.

The findings suggest that those with a lower IQ are more likely to choose to smoke rather than smoking makes people less intelligent.
