Baby, others rescued from South Shore fire

Chicago firefighters rescued a baby and several others from a burning apartment building.

The fire happened about 2:30 Thursday morning at 69th and Clyde in the South Shore neighborhood.

The first firefighters to arrive quickly put ladders up to the back of the building and rescued five people.

A 9-month old child and two adults were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. No one had to be taken to a hospital.
