Spring is finally here. But along with the beautiful tulips and trees blooming comes the dreaded allergy season.

The first symptoms are expected to arrive within the next week.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is offering these tips for keeping those symptoms at bay.

First, if you've never been diagnosed, see a doctor to make sure it's an allergy. If so, make sure to watch mold and pollen counts and stay indoors at peak times.

Remove and wash clothes worn outside and shower to rinse allergens from your body.

Experts say over-the-counter remedies can work for mild symptoms, but if they don't, see a doctor.
