Woman accused of painting nails during crash takes stand

May 5, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Lori Hunt took the stand Wednesday in her trial. She's charged with reckless homicide in the death of Anita Zaffke.

In a written police statement, Hunt admitted she was painting her nails when she rear-ended the motorcyclist in May of 2009. But Wednesday, in emotional testimony, she said that the brush was in the nail polish bottle right when the accident happened and that she had stopped painting her nails just before the crash.
