Study: Chicago has highest taxes for travelers

It costs more for travelers to visit Chicago because of extra taxes than any other city nationwide, according to a new study.The National Business Travel Association looked at 50 U.S. cities. An average three-day, two-night trip to Chicago costs $101.27 in extra taxes for hotels, rental cars and meals.

That compares to New York's cost of $85. The least expensive city for visitors is Portland, Oregon, where the extra taxes are $52.49.
