Francis Cardinal George helped the India Catholic Association of America celebrate the group's 50th anniversary Saturday night. The cardinal presided at a Mass in suburban Bellwood.

The association was founded a half-century ago by a group of graduate students who were new to Chicago. It's now the oldest active Indian association in the Chicago area.

The group works to meet the spiritual, cultural, social and charitable needs of Catholics of Indian decent.

After the Mass, the group hosted a dinner.
