Sylvania man charged with first degree murder

There are more questions than answers at this point, but here's what we know so far. It's a 13 hour drive from Sylvania to Topeka, Kansas. And in that state's capital city, a 32 year old man was shot to death over the weekend.

Late Sunday night in Sylvania, William Holt II, 26, was arrested and charged with the crime. Holt of suburban Sylvania now faces one count of first degree murder and one count of aggravated burglary in the death of Mitch Vose.

Vose was found dead on Saturday morning inside a Topeka home. Topeka news reports say police zeroed in on a vehicle seen in the area of that home shortly before the murder.

The district attorney of Shawnee County in Kansas credits the coordinated efforts by police in Topeka and Sylvania Township for the arrest of Holt. He says, "I am also grateful to all the witnesses who came forward and provided law enforcement with crucial information. The cooperation of the public gave our officers the necessary information to identify and apprehend Mr. Holt."

According to the yearbook, Holt is a graduate of Sylvania Southview High School Class of 2002. 13abc spoke with Holt's family in Sylvania, but they have no comment on his arrest.
