A lawmaker thinks officials should reexamine the state's ownership of U.S. Cellular Field.

The ballpark is owned and operated by the Illinois Sports Facility Authority.

State Senator Michael Bond told the Daily Herald that selling the ballpark could help solve the state's budget crisis.

Bond says at the very least that renegotiating the lease deal with the White Sox should be explored to try and save the state money.
