Seventeen-year-old Carlos Contreras was walking home after school with a group of friends on the 1700-block of West 49th Street when a red SUV began to follow them.
A man got out of the vehicle with a baseball bat and chased the teen and then hit him of the head with the bat.
The teenager is a student at Richards Career Academy.
