Todd Stroger's former deputy chief of staff has filed for unemployment, but it's not yet clear if Carla Oglesby will be granted those benefits.

Oglesby lost her job earlier this month after being arrested on felony public corruption charges. She is now free on bail.

Cook County officials were reportedly shocked to receive notice of Oglesby's claim and are now disputing that claim.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security says an application for unemployment benefits may be denied if the job was lost through misconduct.
