Robbins library needs state funds to stay open

October 21, 2010 (ROBBINS, Ill.)

Officials with the William Leonard library in Robbins say it may be forced to close.

Many latch-key kids depend on the town's only library. It operates on property tax revenue but that has shrunk due to the sluggish economy.

The General Assembly did award the library more funds -- but those funds haven't been paid yet because of the state budget crisis.
