Marc Chagall's America Windows were dismantled in 2005 for safe keeping during the construction of the Modern Wing.
Museum curators say the colorful glass windows had gotten dirty and the brilliance of the colors had been muted after 30 years of overlooking McKinlock Court. All 36 panels were properly cleaned and reinstalled.
The public will be able to see the works of art once again starting Monday at the Art Institute, www.artic.edu/aic/exhibitions/exhibition/Chagall.
