Huberman to step down from CPS post

November 3, 2010 (CHICAGO)

"Ron Huberman has shown great leadership throughout his 16-year career in city government, and we thank him for his service," said Mayor Daley in press release.

Huberman served as a Chicago police officer and went on to lead four departments: OEMC, the mayor's office, CTA and CPS.

Huberman, 38, reportedly told Mayor Daley he planned to resign after Daley said he would not seek another term as mayor. On October 6, he told ABC7 he had " no imminent plan" to leave CPS.

"I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have served this city and Mayor Daley as its leader. I have been privileged to work with so many talented people who have tirelessly made this city a better place to work and call home," Huberman said in press release.
