Chicagoans help the needy on Christmas

December 25, 2010 (CHICAGO)

650 clients and their guests enjoyed Christmas dinner at the Haymarket Center Saturday in Chicago's West Loop.

Gifts were also provided by the family of the center's founder, Monsignor Ignatius McDermott.

On the West Side, a traditional Christmas dinner was served up at the Salvation Army's Harbor Light location.

The Salvation Army also operated what it calls a "mobile feeding facility" to make sure everyone got a good meal Saturday.
