Study: Estrogen may help some cancers spread

Rates of head and neck cancer are rising among some groups of people, including young women who have no known risk factors.

Now, a study suggests that estrogen may help the cancer spread.

In the new study, researchers examined how estrogen affects cells precancerous cells.

Researchers found that estrogen aids a certain enzyme which helps precancerous cells reproduce.

The study is published in the January issue of Cancer Prevention Research.
