The Illinois Tollway has raised the speed limit to 65 mph on the Veterans Memorial Tollway between Interstate 55 and Interstate 80.
New signs are up informing drivers of the change on the Tollway, which is also known as I-355.
Tollway executives say they are pleased the new section of roadway built as part of a congestion relief program will be used at its full capacity.
The speed limit for trucks is still 55 mph.
