Visitors temporarily trapped at Cook County Jail

A locksmith was needed at Cook County Jail Friday night after the lock to the main gate outside of Division Ten was frozen and wouldn't open to allow visitors out.

Visitors at the jail were stuck inside for a little while until the problem could be fixed.

They were eventually loaded onto a van and driven safely off the compound through a rear door.

None of the other gates were affected.
