Deal puts city on track for electric vehicle arrivals

February 18, 2011

Governor Pat Quinn was at the Chicago Auto Show Friday to announce that Chicago has signed a contract to have 280 charging stations installed in the area.

Quinn called on Nissan, Chevy and other electric vehicle manufacturers to bring their cars to Illinois.

When the nearly $9 million project is complete Illinois will have the most fast-charging stations in the country.

The company installing the stations is still trying to determine the best location for them.
