Emanuel campaign: $2.1M left over from mayor run

Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel still has approximately $2.1 million left in his campaign fund after winning the Chicago mayor's race.

Emanuel's campaign released the numbers Saturday. Reporters had asked for them after Emanuel said he would lend a hand in aldermanic runoff races in April.

Spokesman Ben LaBolt said the final tally could still vary a bit. Emanuel started January with $8.3 million on hand for his mayoral bid.

Emanuel will have a new crop of aldermen to work with in the City Council when he takes office in May.
