Dozens of dogs and cats are safe after a dramatic rescue.

Their animal shelter in Muncie, Indiana, was flooded by heavy rain this week.

Some animals had to be rescued by boat. Shelter employees were able to wade through as much as four feet of water to get to the animals.

Nearly all of the 65 dogs and 74 cats have been placed in foster homes.
