Chef Achatz promotes book on Alinea

One of Chicago's hottest chefs took a break from the kitchen to publicize his new book Thursday.

Chicago chef Grant Achatz appeared at the Harold Washington Library Thursday night. He and his business partner, Nick Kokonas, wrote "Life, on the Line." It's about their collaboration at the internationally acclaimed restaurant Alinea.

The book also addresses Achatz's battle with tongue cancer, which caused him to temporarily lose his sense of taste.

Achatz and Kokonas will soon open a new restaurant called Next.
