A young girl fighting cancer is offered the chance to fulfill a dream. When the staff at Brookfield Zoo learned 10-year-old Zoe Meier wanted to grow up to be a dolphin trainer, they thought a behind-the-scenes training session would provide encouragement.

Meier was one of the first patients to use proton therapy at a new facility in suburban Warrenville. She's now finished with her treatments and is doing well.

Thursday night on ABC7 News at 10 p.m., we'll have more on the visit and why this close encounter may provide therapeutic benefits you won't find in a doctor's office.
