Former Stroger aide gets unemployment benefits

She lost her job after being charged with stealing from taxpayers but that's not stopping a former top aide to Todd Stroger from collecting unemployment.

Carla Oglesby was Stroger's Deputy Chief of Staff before her arrest for felonies including awarding no bid county contracts, one to her own public relations firm.

Stroger approved the unemployment benefits before leaving office, over the objection of county commissioners.

He also applied for benefits himself, but the county is trying to fight the payout.
