The former executive director of a suburban waste management agency is accused of stealing more than $900,000.

Forty-seven-year-old Christopher Brooke Beal is charged with theft of government property.

Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez says Beal stole the money from the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County, which serves 23 communities.

Prosecutors say Beal stole the money because he was angry at the agency.
