The service was at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Wade's hometown of Antioch, Ill.
The military says the 22-year-old died of injuries suffered in a non-combat related incident.
Wade joined the army a year after graduating from Antioch High School where he was a member of the soccer team.
During his time in the military, Wade received a number of awards and commendations.
