Extra-alarm fire struck on South Side

A firefighter was slightly injured while fighting an extra-alarm fire that spread to three Englewood buildings Monday morning.

No residents were hurt. Officials say the firefighter was treated for exhaustion at a local hospital and is now OK.

The fire began just before 7 a.m. in the 7200-block of South Green Street. It spread to three buildings- 7216, 7214 and 7224 S. Green Street. It was struck around 8 a.m.
