It was lights out in Chicago Saturday night as the city celebrated Earth Hour.

The annual World Wildlife Fund event is observed in cities all over the world.

Chicago landmarks that went dark included the Merchandise Mart, Willis Tower and the ferris wheel at Navy Pier.

This year, organizers are urging people to think beyond the hour, and look at ways they can save energy in their daily lives.
