Women who are older than 45 years and plan to have a baby can expect complications, according to a new study.

According to the study, 8 out of 10 of the women experienced health problems during their pregnancies and nearly half of their babies were smaller than average. Authors of the report in the journal Fertility and Sterility say the study highlights a downside to using assisted reproduction technologies to make first time motherhood possible later and later in life.
