Head of Metra stepping down

The head of Metra will reportedly announce Friday morning that she is stepping down.

Carole Doris has served as chairperson of Metra since August of 2006.

An associate for Doris tells the Chicago Tribune that Doris is not being pushed out.

The past year has been a turbulent one for Metra following the suicide of the executive director, Phil Pagano. He killed himself after financial irregularities were uncovered.

Doris is expected to announce her resignation at Friday morning's Metra board meeting.
