Quinn may impose sudden budget cuts

There's word Friday night that Gov. Pat Quinn is thinking about imposing sudden budget cuts on state agencies.

The governor's budget office has ordered agencies to submit information on the impact of cutting 1 percent or roughly $250 million.

The amount is relatively small, but it comes when the budget year is almost over and agencies have spent most of their money.

Cutting this much from the budget in the remaining 10 weeks could mean disrupting services.
