A south suburban boy wants to be a police officer and a preacher when he grows up. That dream came true early.

David Hill, 10, got a police escort in Calumet City, where he was sworn in as an honorary police chief and chaplain.

Hill is blind and has a life-threatening illness.

The experience was provided by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Hill proved he is a natural for the pulpit when he offered a prayer.

He said he really wanted to handcuff the police chief and promised he would not hurt him, so that dream came true, too.
