Chicagoans rally in support of Syrian people

April 23, 2011 (CHICAGO)

A human rights group in Syria says government forces have killed 120 people in the past two days.

The violence comes as thousands of Syrians have taken to the streets in protest of the Assad family's authoritarian regime. More than 300 people have been killed in the unrest over the past five weeks.

Protestors here in Chicago rallied in support of the Syrian people. Demonstrators condemned the violence taking place in Syria, and say they want to draw international attention to the Syrian struggle for human rights and freedom of expression.
