Police arrested Michael Ditka last Wednesday in north suburban Deerfield in a parking lot near his apartment. A passenger told police that Ditka had been driving before he failed a sobriety test.
Ditka has been in legal trouble in the past. In 1998 he pleaded guilty to battery charges for pushing his then-girlfriend at his home. He was fined and sentenced to one year of probation.
