More than 2,700 athletes were cheered on Tuesday during the opening ceremonies for the 43rd Annual Special Olympics Spring Games.The famed Shannon Rovers were on hand for the parade of athletes in Soldier Field.
The young men and women will compete in track and field events from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The games will be held in Eckersall Stadium at 2433 East 82nd.
